The Mostyn Project

Studentships and Bursaries

Shaun Evans is funded by the Mostyn Estate and registered with Aberystwyth University. He is working on the creative construction of Mostyn Family Identity c. 1485-1692. His supervisors are Dr Elisabeth Salter (Aberystwyth. English & Creative Writing), with Dr Sara Elin Roberts (Bangor, Law), and Dr Damian Walford Davies (Aberystwyth, English & Creative Writing).

 

Sam Garland is funded by a 125 scholarship at Bangor University and is working on a collection of newsletters written to the Mostyn family from London in the late seventeenth century. His supervisors are Professor Tony Claydon (Bangor, History and Welsh History) and Professor Tom Corns (Bangor, English).

 

Eirian Jones is funded by a 125 Scholarship at Bangor University and is working on a new Welsh edition of the praise poetry associated with the Mostyn family. She is supervised by Professor Peredur Lynch (Welsh, Bangor) and Nia Powell (History and Welsh History, Bangor).

 

Funding Opportunities

Funding for a further 125 Scholarship at Bangor University is available for a student working on the Mostyn family’s reception of the Renaissance.
The supervisors for this project are Professor Andrew Hiscock (Bangor, English), Dr Laura Rorarto (Modern Languages, Bangor), Professor Tony Claydon (Bangor, History and Welsh History)
